"California Art Quilts, Recent Work by California Members of Studio Art Quilt Associates"
April 28 - December 3, 2006
California Art Quilts brought together work from 30 members of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) to show the cutting edge of fiber art in California.

SAQA artists pursue their own unique visions through the medium of fabric. Some make abstract pieces that capture mood and flow, others engage with environmental concerns; some use humor; others layer images and symbols in their work.

Quilts embody particular times and places, and quilts made in California today show California as vibrant and truly innovative.

The exhibition was juried by acclaimed curator Sandi Fox, Collection Curator, Quilts, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (retired) and Michael Trotter, Curator, California Heritage Museum.
