Behold, the Pacific!
California Coastal Views
September 24, 2005 - February 26, 2006
The exhibition of fifty paintings by some of California’s greatest artists was a celebration of over one hundred years of California coastal painting and a colorful record of the development of coastal living on the West Coast. It is an artful primer of painting styles from California’s first century and a chronicle of our love affair with the sea.
Artists in the show included Franz Bischoff, Louis Betts, Rex Brandt, Frank Cuprien, Phil Dike, Emil Kosa Jr., Roger Kuntz, Edgar Payne, William Ritschel, Granville Redmond, Arthur Rozaire, Donna Schuster, George Gardner Symons, Marion Kavanaugh Wachtel and William Wendt.
On behalf of my students, colleagues, and myself, I would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to the amazing folks at the California Heritage Museum. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly to our large group! My students had a blast while learning about renowned artists important to California and Los Angeles' rich history. We look forward to coming back next school year!
